Sterling Health Center of Texas
Sterling Health Center was founded and began operation in 1991. Following expansion of its program in 1994, Sterling Health Center (SHC) was approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services to offer a training program in massage therapy; and registered by the State of Texas as a massage therapy school (MS0064) in September 1994.
Sterling Health Center is approved by the Texas Rehabilitation Commission, and the Texas Workforce Commission (V.A. Education), and authorized by the United States Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service (I.N.S.) both in October 1996. The Independent Third Party Review Panel (ITRP) conducted the certification process and granted approval of SHC iin October 1998. SHC was approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider. In 2005, Sterling Health Center became the first massage therapy school in North Texas to offer the basic massage therapy program in Spanish.
Sterling Health Center is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) a nationally recognized accrediting agency of the U.S. Department of Education.

Our mission is to provide excellence in both, education and initial occupational experience for our students; thereby preparing them completely, to prosper, and enhance their lives, and the lives of those in their communities, through their professional work and service.
Our further goal is to provide programs for our students' continuing education in their chosen specialties.
Massage Therapy Level I (Basic) for the State Licensing
Successful completion of the 300 hour Basic Massage Certification Program completes the total Massage Therapy Level I Program required by the State of Texas for Registered Massage Therapist and qualifies the student to enroll for the Massage Therapy, Texas State Board examination.

The Massage Therapy Level I Program consists of 5 classes followed by internship:
Hydrotherapy (15 Hours)
Health & Hygiene (20 Hours)
Business & Ethics (15 Hours)
Anatomy & Physiology (75 Hours)
Swedish Massage (125 Hours)
Internship (50 Hours)
LEVEL 1 TUITION IS $2,400.00 and a $55.00 non-refundable application fee.
Massage Therapy Level II (Advance) for the National Certification
Sterling Health Center offers certifications in some of the most exciting and highly demanded specialty areas. In most cases, enrollment into these programs is limited solely to those currently attending or already having graduated from a Basic Massage Therapy program. Individuals that do not fit these descriptions but wish to attend these advanced courses must be approved by Sterling Health Center's Director of Education prior to enrollment.
A maximum of 70 hours may be transferred from other schools; a maximum of 20 hours of the 70 may be transferred within the specialty.
To receive any Advanced Certification students must successfully complete a total of 250 classroom hours. Advanced Certification Programs are aimed at:
1. those seeking National Certification by the (NCBTMB) and/or
2. interested in specialized advanced techniques in order to enhance their massage skills.
National Certification Outline curriculum: 500 hours
125 hours of in-class, supervised instruction in the body's systems, anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
200 hours of in-class, supervised instrustruction in massage and bodywork assessment, theory and application
40 hours of in-class, supervised instruction in pathology
10 hours of in-class instruction in business and ethics with a minimum of six hours in ethics
125 hours of additional in-class, supervised instruction in an area or related field that theoretically completes your massage program of study
Core Curriculum: 132 Hours (These courses are required for certification programs at Sterling Health Center.)
Advanced Anatomy and Physiology - 50 Hours
Pathology or Indications and Contraindications – 40 Hours
Postural Assessment – 18 Hours
CPR for the Massage Therapist or Myofascial Release – 6 Hours
Documentation and Client interactions - Ethics – 12 Hours
Eastern Modalities or Trigger Points or Shiatsu or Thai Massage – 6 Hours
